"To promote cycling and unite cyclists throughout Mount Washington Valley"

WELCOME

Welcome to the Mount Washington Valley Velo Club site. This site is a resource for members as well as fellow cyclists who may be visiting the Mount Washington Valley. This site provides a listing of events, ride schedules, and other pertinent links. We encourage all to visit our sponsors as they make up an important element of our community.

We are a group of cyclists who enjoy staying in good health, the camaraderie of fellow cyclists, and a bit of competition among friends. We cover a variety of ages and experiences and enjoy sharing the many benefits of this sport with others.

Bear Notch Loop

Although less than perfect weather, thirteen folks showed up for the June 26 ride to do the Bear Notch Loop. Thanks to Trish Ashworth for "directing" the group. Part of the group later re-convened at the "Red Parka" for some much needed R and R.

First Annual Bike and Gear Swap

The first annual Bike and Gear Swap/Donate held last Saturday, June 14, was a real success. Over 20 tables of Bike and Recreational Gear were available with proceeds from the tables going to the N. Conway Library. The club gained several new members, made some money for our youth cycling program from sales donated items and helped give the community an opportunity to reuse and recycle recreational equipment. I think that next year we will see an increase in participation, donations and sales, as people are made aware that this event is available to them. My thanks to Dick Pollock, Roland Dubois and John Routhier who helped at the event, as well as a "thank you" to those who donated items for us to sell. Glenn Ashworth
