Tom Matchak, Marianne Borowski and I just climbed the East side of Bear notch road this afternoon. We had fatter tires on (I was on a mountain bike) and we were able to negotiate all the way to the height of land beyond the 3rd lookout. There were some snow crossings that should disappear in a few days. At the height of land, however there is still about a packed foot, or so, of snow, so that will not melt as soon. We came back down the same side which was a blast! Please be careful if you plan to do it on "skinny" tires.
